Realistic Road Crimes v1.0
Realistic Road Crimes is a small game tweak that adjusts how roadside crime events are generated in the game.
The goal is to make these encounters feel more natural and believable while keeping the original style and balance of the game.
This mod changes the probabilities for:
– crime types (theft, assault, poaching)
– who the murderer can be
– how NPCs react (run, hide, loot)
– which scene appears
– whether weapons are dropped or kept
– emotional responses of NPCs
Crimes are no longer evenly split. The system now reflects a more realistic medieval world:
– Theft is less common
– Poaching appears moderately
– Violent assault is noticeably more frequent
This makes encounters feel grounded and unpredictable.
Smarter Murderer Profiles
Each crime now logically determines the type of perpetrator:
– Theft → mostly thugs
– Assault → targets merchants, creating more intense scenes
– Poaching → rogues and wanderers
Road encounters become more dynamic and lore-friendly.
Improved NPC ReactionsNPC behavior is now based on believable logic:
– Running is more common
– Hiding and looting are used sensibly
– Decisions reflect fear, opportunity, or desperation
Compatibility
– Fully safe to merge with any mod that does not overwrite roadsideCorpseConfigurations.
– Pure XML edit (no scripts).
– Can be installed or removed at any time.
The result is a more grounded and varied experience when traveling the roads, without making anything extreme or over-the-top.
It keeps the vanilla feeling but improves the logic behind each event.
Installation
– Manual: unpack the mod and place the entire folder into your Mods
directory.
